The Sparkle Project
(Formerly Worthy Mother Podcast)
The Sparkle Project is a feminist podcast for moms who are done carrying the weight of motherhood alone and are ready to connect with who they truly are - their sparkle, if you will.
So many of us feel overwhelmed not because we’re failing, but because we’re mothering inside a patriarchal system that expects us to give endlessly, stay quiet, and lose ourselves in the process. This space challenges those outdated expectations and embraces a more empowered, more supported, more self-honoring version of motherhood.
Hosted by Emily Rose MacDonald, a divorced mom of two on her own journey to shine a little brighter, each episode explores the realities of modern motherhood through a feminist lens that values equity, autonomy, mental health, and the humanity of moms.
You’ll hear conversations about identity, mental health, self-care, healing, and the many ways we can reclaim ourselves in a world that often overlooks the needs of mothers.
If you’re a mom who believes we deserve more than survival, and that our culture has to evolve for moms to truly thrive, you’re in the right place.

Breaking Free From Good Girl Conditioning with Carley Weissert
Good girl conditioning starts so early for most of us - if you've ever identified as a people-pleaser or perfectionist, chances are you are in this boat. This week, empowerment coach Carley Weissert is joining us to uncover how this pervasive conditioning happens and the impacts it can have through our lives, plus some ways we can start to break free from the inauthenticity it brings.
In the episode Carley and I talk about:
- The umbrella of good girl conditioning, including perfectionism and people-pleasing
- How Carley realized her perfect-on-paper life wasn't actually what she wanted
- The power of pausing
- Motherhood as a motivator to address good girl conditioning
- How inner-child healing can help us align to what we actually desire
- Learning when to say yes and when to say no
A little about our guest:
Carley Weissert is an empowerment coach on a mission to help women reconnect to their authentic selves and create lives they can’t get enough of. Just a few years ago, Carley had the perfect life on paper. And yet despite appearing to have it all, she felt like something was missing—a symptom of ignoring her inner voice for years. Around the start of the pandemic, she dove into feminine work, embracing play, exploring her sexuality, and finding her voice. This journey of self-discovery led Carley to flip her life upside down and do one of the scariest things she'd ever done—end her marriage. Flash forward to now, Carley is in a fulfilling relationship, nourished by deep sisterhood connections, and unapologetically prioritize self-care. Coaching is Carley's passion because she understands the silent struggles of women who feel lost or stuck—she's been there! Carley blends a variety of tools ranging from inner child work to somatic emotional release to guide clients toward their true selves. She combine methods she's learned with her own playful energy and deep understanding of what it feels like to be an actress in your own life. In Carley's free time, she enjoys staying active, exploring farmers markets, and having Taylor Swift dance parties with her two little girls!
