The Sparkle Project
(Formerly Worthy Mother Podcast)
The Sparkle Project is a feminist podcast for moms who are done carrying the weight of motherhood alone and are ready to connect with who they truly are - their sparkle, if you will.
So many of us feel overwhelmed not because we’re failing, but because we’re mothering inside a patriarchal system that expects us to give endlessly, stay quiet, and lose ourselves in the process. This space challenges those outdated expectations and embraces a more empowered, more supported, more self-honoring version of motherhood.
Hosted by Emily Rose MacDonald, a divorced mom of two on her own journey to shine a little brighter, each episode explores the realities of modern motherhood through a feminist lens that values equity, autonomy, mental health, and the humanity of moms.
You’ll hear conversations about identity, mental health, self-care, healing, and the many ways we can reclaim ourselves in a world that often overlooks the needs of mothers.
If you’re a mom who believes we deserve more than survival, and that our culture has to evolve for moms to truly thrive, you’re in the right place.

Embodiment Practices to Stay Grounded in Motherhood’s Toughest Moments with Jocelyn Diles
Motherhood often feels like a whirlwind of responsibilities, emotions, and expectations. Jocelyn Diles, a women’s embodiment coach and single mom, knows first-hand the impact that the mind-body connection has on healing and transformation. Jocelyn opens up about the trials of early motherhood, navigating challenging circumstances, and the practices that helped her stay grounded amidst it all.
In the episode, Jocelyn and I talk about:
- 🌟The Power of Embodiment: What it means and how it can guide your relationships, decisions, and sense of self
- 💔 Healing Through Hardship: Jocelyn’s remarkable journey through motherhood, including overcoming homelessness and building stability
- 🎭 Moving Through: The importance of allowing yourself to cry and embracing emotions as part of healing
- 🧘♀️ Daily Practices: breathwork, laying on the floor, and breast massage that can help moms release tension and reconnect with themselves
- 🌸 In and Out: How to balance the need for external support with developing internal resilience
- 🤲 The Courage to Ask for Help: Why asking for help can be an empowering act for mothers and their communities
A little about our guest:
Jocelyn Diles has lived a creative life, she believes as a coping mechanism for being a depressed, confused child. Jocelyn was a happy kid until she hit puberty, which is pretty common in a world where we don't properly educate our girls on their bodies and how to connect to their menstrual cycles. In search of finding meaning to a life she did not want, Jocelyn explored yoga, buddhism, psychology, thepary, and other modalities to heal herself from self hate. Through her twenties she abused alcohol and drugs until she hit rock bottom, when she left her home of Seattle and to live in a zen monastery for a month and then hike the entire Appalachian Trail. After she finished, Jocelyn moved to Boulder, Colorado to become a massage therapist. This is when her healing journey truly began. Jocelyn learned about the power of the mind-body connection. For over a decade she has been entrenched in this work, helping other woman to find the healing that she was able to find within myself.
